HOW TO FOCUS ON GOD
Let’s start with a very old saying which says “out of sight is out of mind” The first question to ask ourselves is if we have not let God out of sight in our search options. A very important attribute of God is that he does things largely because he wants to do them. His timing may not be ours and because He knows things from beginning to end, he knows what should be and what should not.
Either in admiration or in requisition, our gaze must be totally on God if we are to get his attention and receive our expectations. When you love someone you constantly behold them same as when you desperately need them. The posture is the same.
We are often patient with the one we love, we reason along with them even to our disadvantage sometimes. How often have you tried to reason along with God concerning what you are asking and what He may be expecting from you?
There may be a demonic delay in some instances and this even makes beholding God very important because if you look well enough, you will see where the problem is.
While we may not control what drops on our minds, we do have control over things we think or meditate upon. When thoughts or meditation shifts, the focus has shifted and the expected result may not be in view. You must view God through his word as an entity that is capable of helping out.
Trust is important when it comes to focusing. However, knowing God through his word is a prerequisite for trust. In essence, knowledge, trust and focus, and getting result works hand in hand.
Whatever your reason for showing up in church or his presence, maintain a posture that beholds.
