HOW TO FIGHT NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

Recently I was listening to Prophet Adesoji when he was referring to a time he had the urge to pray because his heart was heavy. According to him, he could not clearly state what the matter was but he stood in prayers for some minutes until the heaviness of his heart disappeared. He used the popular prayer term “praying through” to describe the experience. This experience of praying through is a massive trick to overpower the devil and every believer must pay serious attention to any inner pull to prayer. 

Most often attacks from the devil start from the wrong consumption of information which leads to thoughts. Random thoughts and imagination come to our mind and we often begin to meditate on them until they become a reality. Note, it may take up to five years for some thoughts to crystalize. At those points, we often say to ourselves that “we knew it was going to happen ”. You were wrong,  you didn’t know it would happen, you meditated on it until it happened. The mind is powerful. The Bible clearly states that as a man thinketh in his heart so he is. 

I have reasons to believe the devil is after my marriage because randomly and often, the thoughts of many things that may go wrong keep coming to my mind. Beyond that,  the thought of escape options always follows. The options are not even biblical. All of the time, I will come out of that thought with rebukes for the enemy and a few positive words of affirmation of my love for my wife and decrees over my marriage. So one day at work, the thought came again then I immediately began to pray in the spirit. Guess what,  after a while thoughts of love for my wife and love gestures suddenly flood my heart. Instantly I knew I had “prayed through” concerning the matter. 

The only thing bigger than what men can conceive in their minds is what God has in mind. The Bible says God’s plan exceeds what is known to the eye or ear and beyond the thoughts of men. The bible’s truth that God can do and exceed what man can ask or think only suggests how powerful and vast our mind is. Don’t joke with it. 

Consciously attacking negative thoughts by praying in tongues and watching out for when there is an unexplainable peace in our hearts is a master stroke in securing our victory. When we pray, our first proof or validation is not the substance we prayed for but the unexplainable peace or relief that comes to our minds.
