WHAT WE NEED IN THE CIVIL SERVICE

WHAT WE NEED IN THE CIVIL SERVICE

Burden-bearing men must be raised consistently to go into civil service or raise from those who are there already. What a civil servant is capable of is unimaginable in the development of policies, implementation of the law, and growth of society. Nehemiah was a burden-bearing civil servant, serving in the palace of an oppressive king. The take-home is the positioning and subsequent favor with the King that came with it. Would the wall be built if he had chosen a popular route?

Daniel was a civil servant also and he did great things. However, let’s consider the role of the servant sent to kill all the wise men who could not help with the king’s dream. A terrible decree was given to a civil servant to execute but when he got to Daniel, he didn’t just shut him up and arrest him, he showed discretion by giving audience to Daniel, and through that many lives were saved.

Maybe, just maybe if we look at other routes of nation-building, we may see some great positive growth. The build-up to attaining political power isn’t always fair even if the best among us attempt it. At some point in the build-up to power, winning may become so important to us that we may be willing to make small compromises and later bigger ones. Should we stop attempting? No, but while at it, we must never lose sight of the truth that the end doesn’t justify the means, it is rather the other way round.

Kindly leave me a feedback.

Jesus is Lord.

The call of Nehemiah unlike other patriarchs was unique. Some were called from their mothers womb, some were called expressly for certain assignment but for him, Nehemiah, the news of the desolation of the land of his birth turnout to be a burden in his heart which later culminated into his call. Wherever we are planted by God we should make our impact felt so well to the point where we can be called God’s ambassador and the carrier of His vision. Sincerely, I can’t agree less with the fact that what we need now are Burden-bearing men and women with a mind to change the narrative for this generation. Keep up the good work.
