LEMONADE IS STILL IN SIGHT

I broke into Quincy’s mind, and this was what I found.  Most days start with him getting his kids ready for school. He was not a single father, but doing that has become a routine. One of his boys will regularly ask if he can sleep some more, Quincy will say no as it is expected of him. Little did the boy know that even his dad didn’t want to get out of bed at that time.

On this day, after finishing the school errands,  he settled to pray for about an hour. Just as he was about to relax a little bit before getting ready for work, he decided to check updates on WhatsApp.  This was when the battle of the mind began. A known person shared an update praising another friend and talking about how important the friend is to him and the enterprise he is building.  This very innocent update on social media made Quincy weak.

He was not jealous of the being person being praised or the one doing the praising, but he became concerned about his own life. He asked himself if anyone could praise him in such a manner. Of course, I believe if he thinks deeply, he will find a few people. Quincy also feels he is getting old with nothing significant to show for it.  Well, that’s the devil trying to mess with his mind, especially after spending some time praying.  The devil doesn’t want his mind to be quiet enough to receive insight from God through his spirit.

Of course, Quincy has been a great guy, though, probably with a few mistakes or inconsistencies here and there. Who doesn’t have that? Even superheroes have concerns. A man with breath in him has hope, and so many things can be achieved even in a short time. This reminds me of the story of Joyce Meyer, who started her ministry at 42 years after a very difficult life. The time left is enough. I encourage myself, and I hope Quincy is encouraged.

Don’t quit. Get on with it. Yesterday is gone,  the new day may be difficult as a result of yesterday’s decisions but if we all don’t quit, lemonade is still in sight though lemon is all that is available now.
