WHY YOU SHOULDN’T BET ON ARSENAL OR NASTY ONANA

Cruz said “I don dey cash out oo” just before we had our daily brief before work. One would have thought that all is well with every migrant that made it to the western world, but that’s not really the case. A while ago, I noticed some guys were always with their phones even while working,I also noticed quick chats from people least likely to be friends and I often wonder what I’m not getting.

Then one day, at our regular bus stop, I heard a female colleague having a phone conversation with someone about football matches and complaining about a team. It happened that it wasn’t about the love for the team but about potential wins and a visible loss. Yet my dots were not connecting.

Then on another day, another migrant like me was complaining to other guys about something and they were all checking their phones so I stepped closer to learn more.  I was blown away when I saw that it was about football betting. One would have thought earning in pounds would make the difference for all of us but it didn’t. The money earned seems good but not good enough for the bills. Bills, why are you this wicked?

Betting as harmless as it looks has the capacity to make you hope in the impossible and get you addicted to heart breaks. Well, the probability of winning in the next bet may be some people reason for living, but it will eventually be their reason for a painful, miserable life. Whatever you do, don’t bank fully on Arsenal FC, and by the way, I’m a Chelsea fan.

The only hope that does not disappoint is only found in Jesus Christ. God is rich in mercy, and if you honestly seek him, you will find him.
