WHY I LOVE TEMPLE HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

WHY I LOVE TEMPLE HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

Just like most parents, myself and my wife were concerned about getting our boy into reception in a good school though aside from the quality of the school, proximity to our home was also a factor we considered. While we were living at Stone,  our boy got an offer from Brent primary school, which seemed very good, but we changed houses, so templehill Primary and St. Anselm School was the closest to us. As a matter of fact, templehill primary school was just a house away from us. It was easy for us to choose the school.

The reception year is almost coming to an end so I want to share my views about the school. While I can’t say what the feeling would have been elsewhere for my son, I can clearly state that my son enjoyed himself.  He made quite a number of friends, which has led to good interactions among parents.

Communication & Learning

The school encouraged all parents to sign on to an app where information can be exchanged between the school and the parents. You can reach your kid’s teachers on the app directly also. Video and picture updates of activities are shared on the app. I can confirm that the teachers are responsive. The part where school works are uploaded for follow-up learning at home is what I appreciate most. The teachers are prompt in reporting any incident on the school ground. Aside from classroom learning,  there are fun and learning activities outside the school. On a few occasions, they have visited some sort of forest, which was greatly impactful to the kids. There were several pictures of sessions where teamwork,  work ethics, good values, etc. were taught.

Fun Time / Motivation / ETC

There was a week-long Christmas event. My wife attended on one of the days, and it sounded like fun. On another occasion,  parents were invited to sit in class with the kids to read and do a few paintings. It was a great bonding experience. For my son, dojo points are everything, and any day he gets a sticker of commendation is always a good day. The idea of a reward for good work has really been helpful. The world is adequately represented in the school. You only need to look around, and you will see someone that looks just like you.. The school is clean and tidy all of the time, and I think the environment is safe. The school has more than enough open spaces for kids to enjoy their playtime.

I will surely recommend the school to anyone. My son’s experience has been a good one.
